The child of John Culmer (a parish clerk) and Sarah Hawkes, Sarah Culmer, the four times great-aunt of Nigel Horne, was born in Stourmouth, Kent, England on 8 May 18111 and baptised there at All Saints on 17 May 1811. She was married to William Dadds there at All Saints on 1 Oct 18282.
