William James Culmer 1882 - c1926

A dock gateman and the child of Charles Culmer (an agricultural labourer) and Emma Beak, William Culmer, the first cousin twice-removed on the mother's side of Nigel Horne, was born in Stourmouth, Kent, England on 26 May 18821,2,3,4, was baptised there at All Saints on 8 Jun 1882 and married Lillian Marshall (an office cleaner with whom he had 1 child, Lilian) in Sculcoates, East Yorkshire, England c. Feb 19056.

During his life, he was living in Westmarsh, Kent, England on 5 Apr 18917; in Malta on 31 Mar 1901 (with Royal Navy, serving on HMS Theseus); and at 4 Norman Avenue, Sculcoates on 2 Apr 19118.

He died c. Feb 1926 in Sculcoates5. He served in the military from 3 Aug 1897 to 4 Jun 1921 (navy - service number 195648; Served from 3 Aug 1897 to 4 Jun 1921 on a number of ships starting with HMS Impregnable, finishing with HMS Pembroke I).
