A labourer and the child of Daniel Culmer and Sarah Wood, John Culmer, the 5 times great-grandfather of Nigel Horne, was born in Stourmouth, Kent, England c. 17571, was baptised in St Nicholas-at-Wade, Kent, England on 4 Sep 1757 and and married Mildred Adams (with whom he had 2 children: John and Charles) in Ash, Kent, England on 27 Mar 17793. On 6 Jun 1841, he was living at his birthplace1.
