A probationer nurse in training and the child of Charles Horne (a works for market gardener) and Amy Spratt, Iris Horne, the first cousin once-removed on the father's side of Nigel Horne, was born in Thanet, Kent, England on 19 Feb 19211,2,3,4.

She married Walter Lott (a newsagent with whom she had 4 surviving children: Maureen E, Susan J, Robert J and Margaret A) in Thanet c. Aug 19435. On 29 Sep 1939, she was living at Isle Of Thanet Joint Isolation Hospital, Haine, Ramsgate, Kent, England[6].

She died c. Nov 1983 in Shepway, Kent2,4.
