The child of William Amos (a railway platelayer) and Esther Dale (a domestic duties), Harry Amos, the first cousin twice-removed on the father's side of Nigel Horne, was born in Dover, Kent, England on Nov 22, 1893 and baptised in Buckland, Kent, England on Dec 31, 1893.

He died c. Jan 1894 in Dover2,4 and was buried at St Andrew's Church in Buckland on Jan 10, 18944.
