An electrical fitter and the child of Thomas Dale (a dock yard labourer) and Jane Laws, Thomas Dale, the second cousin three-times-removed on the father's side of Nigel Horne, was born in Strood, Kent, England c. Feb 18821,2 and and married Rosa Knowler (with whom he had 1 child, Frank Aubrey George) in Strood c. Aug 19054.

During his life, he was living at Brompton Lane, Strood on 31 Mar 1901[1]; at Drayton Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England on 2 Apr 1911[6]; and at 95 Halfway Road, Minster, Sheppey, Kent, England in 1962.

He died on 29 Jun 1962 at Sheppey General Hospital, Sheppey3 and was buried there on 5 Jul 1962 (was of Cemetery denomination at Cemetery church.)5.
