A labourer and the youngest of 4 children of William Horn and Sarah Watton, John Horn, the 3 times great-grandfather of Nigel Horne, was born in Margate, Kent, England on Apr 10, 17861,2,3,4, was baptized there at St John the Baptist's Church on Apr 30, 1786 and was married to Mary Ann (with whom he had 11 children: Thomas, Mary Ann, Daniel, John, William, Elizabeth Emma, Emma, Charles, James, Anna and George).

During his life, he was living at 6 Chapel Hill, Margate in 18511 and on Mar 30, 18517.

He died on Dec 19, 1867 in Margate2,4,5 (old age) and was buried there at St John the Baptist's Church on Dec 26, 18674,6.
