Biography

A musician and the child of Charles Spratt (a smackowner and fishsalesman) and Susannah Thunder, Edwin Spratt, the first cousin twice-removed on the father's side of Nigel Horne, was born in Ramsgate, Kent, England c. May 18911, was baptized in Herne, Kent, England on May 24, 1891.

He married Ethel Brandel (with whom he had 1 surviving child, Gordon Edwin Joseph) at Registry Office, Sevenoaks, Kent, England on Nov 20, 1912.

During his life, he was living at 44 Addington Street, Ramsgate on Mar 31, 19013,4 and on Apr 2, 19115; and at 2 The Parade, Riverhead, Sevenoaks in 1915.

He died on Nov 19, 1918 at No 10 Clearing Station, France2 (pneumonia) and is buried at Tourcoing Communal Cemetery, Tourcoing, Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France. He served in the military in France from 1915 to 1918 (soldier Number: DM2/129650, Rank: Private, Corps: Army Service Corps).
