A horseman on farm hw and the child of Henry Beake (a waggoner on farm) and Ellen Gibbs, William Edmund, the second cousin once-removed on the mother's side of Nigel Horne, was born at St Peters, Thanet, Kent, England on 1 Sep 19011,2,3,4 and baptised there on 3 Nov 1901.

During his life, he was living at Hale Cottages, The Street, St Nicholas-at-Wade, Kent, England on 2 Apr 19111; at Down Barton Farm, St Nicholas-at-Wade on 29 Sep 19392; and at 15 South Bush Lane, Rainham, Kent in 1961.

He died on 13 May 1961 at All Saints Hospital, Chatham, Kent4.
