An ag labourer, William Standing, the husband of Charlotte Marsh the four times great-aunt of Nigel Horne, was born in Folkestone, Kent, England in 17891,2,3 and married Charlotte (with whom he had 11 children: James, John, Mary Ann, William, Stephen, Charlotte, William, George, William Henry, Charlotte Ann and William) in Folkestone on Sep 29, 18134.

During his life, he was living at his birthplace in 18411 and in 18515; at Dover Road, Folkestone on Mar 30, 18516 and on Apr 7, 18617.

He died in 1866 in Folkestone2,3 (oct/Nov/Dec) and was buried there on Dec 30, 18663.
