A dressmaker and the child of George Horne (a barman) and Rosa Horn, Emma Horne, the second cousin twice-removed on the father's side of Nigel Horne, was born in Ramsgate, Kent, England on 8 May 18971,2,3 and baptised there at St Paul's Church, King St on 26 May 1897, the same day as her sister Alice Rose.

During her life, she was living at 62 Boundary Road, Ramsgate on 31 Mar 19017; at 77 Hardres Street, Ramsgate on 2 Apr 19116; and at 32 Chapel Road, Ramsgate on 29 Sep 1939 with her father George Charles3 and in 1947.

She died on 17 Apr 1947 in County Hospital, Canterbury, Kent, England4,5.
